REPORTS

MALICIOUS INJURIES (Late), 2022-09050045, 900 block of N. Jackson St. At approximately 3:53 a.m. on September 5, police were dispatched to Virginia Hospital Center for a late report of an assault. Upon arrival, it was determined that the known suspect, who had been involved in an ongoing argument with the victim, approached the victim inside an establishment. A fight ensued, during which the suspect allegedly assaulted the victim and stole her mobile phone before being separated. Witnesses returned the stolen cell phone to the victim. The victim sustained serious non-life-threatening injuries and reported to hospital for medical treatment. The victim did not know if she wanted to take legal action. The investigation is ongoing.

MARKING, 2022-09020220, block 2600 of Columbia Pike. Around 8:49 p.m. on September 2, police were dispatched to the observation of a brandishing. Upon arrival, it was determined that at approximately 8:43 p.m., the unknown male suspect entered the business, approached the counter, removed a firearm and magazine from his belt, and loaded it before flee on foot. The suspect made no demands or threats. No injuries were reported and no items were reported stolen or damaged. Responding officers scoured the area and got negative results. The suspect is described as a black male approximately 5’10” to 6’0″, weighing 215 to 230 pounds, wearing a pink t-shirt and blue jeans. The investigation is ongoing.

MISSILE IN AN OCCUPIED DWELLING (Late), 2022-09030131 700 Block S. Florida St. At approximately 1:45 p.m. on September 3, police were dispatched to a late report for a late missile at an occupied dwelling. Upon arrival it was determined that at approximately 12:45 p.m. the victim heard a loud noise and when she went to investigate found that a stone had been thrown through her window and observed an unknown man s escape from the area. The suspect is described as a 13 to 20 year old male, approximately 5’5 to 5’7, wearing a blue short sleeve shirt. No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.

HEIST, 2022-09020239, 1500 block of 28e S. St. At approximately 10:05 p.m. on September 3, police were dispatched to report suspicious circumstances after the whistleblower noticed his neighbor’s door had been left open for an extended period of time. The investigation determined that between 12:00 p.m. on August 31 and 9:26 p.m. on August 2, the unknown suspect(s) entered the residence and items belonging to the victim were moved. There is no description of suspect(s). The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLAR (Late), 2022-09020060 Block 200 of N. Glebe Rd. At approximately 7:43 a.m. on September 2, police were dispatched to a late report of a break and enter. Upon arrival, it was determined that between approximately 5:25 a.m. and 6:50 a.m., the unknown suspect(s) broke into the business and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. There is no description of suspect(s). The investigation is ongoing.

INDECENT EXPOSURE (Late), 2022-09040171 Block 1900 N. Rhodes St. Around 9:32 p.m. on September 4, police were dispatched to the late observation of an indecent assault. Upon arrival officers met the victim who said at around 9.10pm she heard a noise and looking out the window observed an unknown male suspect allegedly masturbating in the woods. Officers scoured the area for the suspect and got negative results. There is no suspicious description. The investigation is ongoing.

AUTO THEFT (Late, Series), 2022-09050059 Block 900 S. Rolfe Street. At approximately 6:41 a.m. on September 5, police were dispatched to report a late car robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that between approximately 11:30 p.m. on September 4 and 6:41 a.m. on September 5, the unknown suspect(s) smashed the driver’s side windows of three vehicles and stole the airbags. All affected vehicles are Honda models. There are no suspicious descriptions at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
