NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Karen & Kevin Keyes Niele Ivey, head coach of women’s basketball for the Notre Dame family, has found another big job to replace Maya Dodson and her name is Lauren Ebo. The 6-4 Washington DC center forward spent his first two seasons at Penn State before spending his final two at Texas.

Ebo not only brings a veteran presence to the low end, but also a plethora of playoff experience, having led the Longhorns to back-to-back Elite Eights the past two seasons.

“I am happy to announce that Lauren Ebo will be joining our ND family,” Coach Ivey said. “She brings a wealth of experience with deep runs in the NCAA Tournament over the past two years. She is a true leader on and off the pitch. She is a strength on the inside and a perfect fit for our team and our culture.

Statistically, Ebo’s final year in Austin was his best, posting season-high averages in points (8.0 ppg) and rebounds (6.7 rpg). She started in 30 of 35 games played, averaging 26.6 minutes. Ebo also posted his best shooting season, converting 48.1% from the floor.

Ebo was named an honorable mention All-Big 12 in addition to earning a spot on the All-Tournament Big 12 team. Ebo ultimately recorded a total of 35 points and 18 rebounds in the conference tournament.

She posted four double-doubles during the year, which not only led the team, but also doubled her initial career tally to eight. Ebo led the team in rebounding and posted 13 double-digit games.

Speaking of those 13 double-digit scoring games, six came in the last 10 games of the season, as Ebo finished strong down the stretch. The Washington DC native has scored consecutive games with a season-high 17 points (against Oklahoma State and Kanas State, March 5-11).

Finally, from a respective career, Ebo is averaging 6.1 points and 5.6 rebounds.
